supports National Underground Railroad Family Reunion project
(PHILADELPHIA-December
6, 2002 )The William Still Underground Railroad Foundation
Inc. along with The National Park Service, Camden Waterfront,
Loews Hotel of Philadelphia, and The Philadelphia Multi-Cultural
Congress proudly announce the first annual National Underground
Railroad Family Reunion Festival to take place in Camden,
N.J, and Philadelphia, PA June 27-29, 2003.
The three-day celebration,
a first of its kind, will reunite descendants of conductors,
abolitionists, stationmasters, fugitives and all of those
persons who ancestors were associated with the Underground
Rail Road in a public arena. This event offers to the public
activities designed to appeal all ages genders and cultures
and gives the descendants as well as UGRR history buffs, and
others who are intrigued about Underground Rail Road History,
a forum to educate, network and share their legacies with
each other and the world via books, art, music, song, exhibits
and re-enactments. One of the major attractions of the celebration
is a Gospel Folk Concert featuring National recording artists
(TBA).
